Vapor Vs. Smoke: Tobacco's war against technology

Cigarettes Face Extinction

If you'd have asked a smoker if they were willing to change their habit to keep from quitting 10 years ago, they would have been pretty hesitant in giving up what they normally see as a stress reliever. With the advent of E-cigarettes, more and more smokers are seeing this alternative as a healthier and cheaper choice.

Coming out around 2008 in Asia, the e-cigarette was invented as a nicotine delivery system that used no tobacco. Soon after, this technology was replicated by companies in the US, and the e-cigarette market was made. There are currently over 100 different e-cigarette manufacturers in the United States alone. When comparing this with just 48 tobacco manufacturers, the future doesn't look too bright for the tobacco leaf.
