Quidditch is possible! Woah.

This video I found after Besercules' comment on my other blog about flying balls. These aren't them, but I could see this being sphere-shaped in the future:

With this we can inflame the youth of today in science and engineering. We can actualize a once fictional game into a fun activity that melds fantasy and reality.

Still a few years away from the Battle Room,
"Battle Room Scene" from "Ender's Game" comic

but that's going to happen before Calvinball.

  1. Wow that is cool, now all they need is flying brooms too. Can you imagine the accidents, no magic spells to keep them from falling, yeah safer on the ground.

    1. If you mean quidditch, I may be in the stands. But if you're talking battle room, I'll be up for a team battle.

  4. I really hope Ender's Game gets off the ground and is done right. I remember hearing rumblings of a film adaptation in 2001 which never went anywhere.

  6. I want to play full contact Quidditch, the kind where people end up with broken arms and legs. I'm assuming, of course, that everyone else playing would look like Harry Potter, which means I could totally kick their asses.

  7. We're one step closer to something fake becoming something real. Personally I was hoping hyperspace would be first, not quidditch.

  15. Just so you all remember the howerboard from Back To Future 3 comes in three years.
Playing chess against a computer with difficutly settings set to expert or whatever is the hardest possible choice, usually makes a short 3 or 4 turn game.

  17. Ugh, NONE of my friends had enough imagination for Calvinball. I was so NOT impressed!

You, Me, The Battleroom when they get it sorted. Pick your team and start training now :3

Yay, I'm not the only Maru fan in the Blogosphere! He makes me want to move into a house with lots of lino/wood floors and teach Dralion how to box-skate. (Silly cat prefers newspaper and plastic rings from milk bottles)
